Bergen New Jersey Shopping Malls

the bergen mallA very famous shopping mall is located right in the center of the Bergen County. It is called the Garden State Plaza and you can not name any thing that will not be available here. All visitors to the state of New Jersey make it a point to visit this shopping mall and indulge in a shopping spree happily. You will not be surprised to know why it is so immensely popular. The Bergen County itself is very close to New York City and so many of the visitors to New York also visit Paramus shopping malls.

There are in fact four shopping mall in Paramus and the biggest of them all is the Garden state Plaza with a very large floor space. It is actually spread across millions of square feet and it is fully enclosed. You will go crazy with the number of shops present here. There are more than 250 shops in this shopping mall alone. The other three malls are also equally impressive although slightly smaller in size.

There is a secret why New Yorkers are found shopping here for their clothing requirements. There is no tax levied upon clothing in New Jersey while at New York the tax rate is more than eight percent on every single purchase of clothes that you make. New York is just half an hour’s drive away and that is the reason you find large crowds at the shopping malls all the time. The savings made will be considerable when purchases are made here than at New York. When purchases are made for the entire family and especially when the school is about to start and school uniforms have to be purchased Bergen County malls are the most ideal ones. Some times a new comer to Bergen County wonders whether it is some festive season when he sees gregarious shoppers shopping madly at the malls.

Bergen County malls have a reason why they are always jam packed all the time. As per the law of the state of New Jersey where the Bergen County is located, all Sundays are compulsory state declared holidays. This is also called as the Blue law. This is known to all the shoppers and they make up for their Sunday shopping on all the other week days. This is the reason the milling a crowd at the malls is a permanent feature at all the malls of Bergen County. Only grocery stores are considered as essential services and they are allowed to remain open on Sundays also.

At times the traffic could be exasperating especially on Saturdays and so it is better that you know about this fact before hand. The shoppers land in large numbers on Saturdays and begin their shopping spree. Other than clothing items you will find that a whole range of electronic gadgets are available very cheap here. This is the reason why Bergen County shopping malls have bagged the second spot in the whole of the U.S. for the highest retail sales.
